My modem has not been functional lately, so I haven't been able to post my review of Chris Madrid's, located at 1900 Blanco Rd., San Antonio, Texas. I visited this location on September 28 with two of my best friends before the big Metallica concert. This seemed to be a pretty popular choice as there were other fellow concertgoers there that day. My wife previously brought me here a long while ago, but that was before I had my blog and I don't quite remember my experience, so I had to visit this burger joint again. I'm glad I did. I ordered my customary bacon cheeseburger, here called the Porky's Delight w/ Cheddar and fries. After a small wait, I received my food and began eating. The first bite was heaven as this restaurant has gotten it right and served me a well seasoned hamburger patty. This is what I've been waiting for since I started the blog. A burger I didn't have to add any seasoning. The patty was cooked well and very juicy. The Cheddar cheese as you can see from the picture was so abundant that it was overflowing. The bacon was nice and crispy. The only drawback I can think of was that the homemade fries didn't have any salt, but the hamburger was so good, I didn't care. Texas Monthly's August 2009 edition of the 50 best hamburgers in the state didn't even rank Chris Madrid's. I'm real surprised that they didn't even rank them, considering I also had what they considered was the #2 burger in the state, the Counterburger at Counter Cafe, in Austin, Texas. I thought Chris Madrid's bacon cheeseburger was a lot better than the supposed #2 burger in the state. I always kind of thought they were a little skewed to Austin since they're located there. Just goes to show that burgers and people's thoughts on them are all a matter of opinion. As far as my grade, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being The Perfect Burger, I give Chris Madrid's a 10, which makes it The Perfect Burger. I wonder how many there are? I'll keep eating and trying to find out!
